Welcome to RestaurantMastering! I’m John, and I’m extremely grateful that you’re here. You may think I started this website simply because I enjoy helping restaurateurs like yourself! Well, it’s true! I like seeing other restaurant owners reach their goals just as much as I like reaching my own.

Meet John: Entrepreneur and Pizza guru!

I’m a happy family guy with 6 kids who happens to be a successful entrepreneur. I build restaurants using strategies and skills that I’ve learned over the past 20 + years. I have a strong history in the pizza industry which is one of the most competitive restaurant industries. It’s demanding work but I love it. I really do enjoy this, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I do it for all my customers which now includes you. That’s why when I meet a restaurant owner, I see someone that I want to get to know. I want to help them grow into the restaurant owner they want to become. So, in other words, I see myself every time I meet a restaurant owner. I have been in your shoes and I want to help you.

I understand the thrill and excitement of starting a restaurant and being your own boss. I know the satisfaction that comes from creating a product and wanting to get it in the hands (or mouths) of as many people as possible, not just to make money but to serve customers and put a smile on their face. And I experience the hardships that come along with running a restaurant, from always feeling like more can be done to never turning it off in your brain. Not being able to go to sleep because you are so excited about this new chapter in your life. Kind of like what I am doing right now. I have been so excited about helping people grow their restaurant since I thought about this I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.

And like many restaurant owners, my entrepreneurial journey began when work dried up at my architectural firm I was working at.

I graduated from college with my masters in architecture back in 2007 right when the economy was crumbling. There weren’t a lot of architectural jobs around at the time so I stayed working for the little firm I had been at for the past 6 years and at night I was still working for a local pizza shop. I always knew I wanted to own my own business so I started looking for a pizza shop I could buy and turn into my own.

Thankfully I found a place that was willing to sell it to me on land contract. I bet on myself and became an entrepreneur. The success I’ve enjoyed since has allowed me to build a great lifestyle for me and my family. And here’s the thing: I am willing to teach other restaurant owners like yourself how you achieve the same level of success using similar business strategies and tactics.
